Art Prize definitely brings out some things that we may not always be used to seeing in Grand Rapids, but I still can be surprised by some of the things I take witness to.

Who doesn't love fall!  It's a great time in Grand Rapids, especially because Art Prize is here and that means the streets are full of food trucks!  So many different food options hit Grand Rapids the minute Art Prize begins.  Normally I have a routine and I stick to it pretty religiously but I thought, why not stray away from it and try some of this food we have right outside my door!

There are so many shows out right now that follow the same theme, medieval awesomeness!  First off we have the ever popular, Game Of Thrones, followed by The Tutors and now the CW is bringing us Reign!  I'm a bit of a nerd TV addict.... I think it may have something to do with working nights for as long as I did, but I can stay up all night watching these shows!

I was tweeted this today: "Wonder Woman // a short by Rainfall Films" I was immediately intrigued, I love wonder woman! That amazonian women definitely deserves her own movie. Sunday my sister and I went thrift store shopping and put together this fabulous look... medieval look!  I have more photos to come, but wanted to share just one teaser!  We shot this back home in Portage my old stomping grounds... We went to a park I used to run cross country practice at, you can imagine the looks I got from people enjoying their Sunday bike ride.

Last Saturday I raced in the Air Force Marathon, fantastic experience with some of my running friends!  I opened my email today to find some photos that were taken during the race.  When I look back to running I remember feeling really crappy but in these photos I just look like a goof ball!  Mile 9 I was flashing the ROCK ON sign... I am so excited about this cosplay. Harley Quinn is my favorite comic villian. For one thing her story is wicked cool and there should be a movie role for her... come one the lady was working the psych ward, falls in love with a patient we know as the joker and runs away and becomes a crazy little sidekick/lover to Batman's nemesis! Love it!

What can I say about the Air Force Marathon?  It is AWESOME! I don't know if I would be saying this if the stars hadn't aligned for me and I hadn't ran what was basically the best marathon I ever ran!

I recently have made a new friend in the cosplay world! Viva Wonder Woman. She's a bad ass! This awesome lady lives in Vegas and is a costume designer. Well after a lot of chatting we decided we could both benefit from each other. I can't sew worth sh*t so my costumes are super bad in person! Grand Rapids Art Prize 2013 is officially under way!  Working right down town has it's perks during a time like Art Prize.  Our building happens to be one of the venues for some fantastic works of art.
