Over the weekend, Metallica headlined the 2012 Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans after original headliners Green Day were forced to back out. Due to Billie Joe Armstrong's recent trip to rehab, Metallica stepped in on short notice, but took a moment to pay tribute to their friends in Green Day by performing a part of 'American Idiot' onstage (as seen in the video below).
After pop-punk legends Green Day chose to withdraw as headliners of the 2012 Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans due to frontman Billie Joe Armstrong entering rehab for substance abuse, the band's replacement has just been named. The replacement headliners just happen to be the most commercially successful metal band in history, Metallica.
12 Stones won again! I know, they didn't win by much but they did win. So why is Soundgarden in again today? WELL after looking at 12 Stones stats I see they have won 2 straight weeks, that means I am going to put them in my retired category
The Gaming Vault is reporting that 'Oh Love,' the first single from Green Day's upcoming album ’¡Uno!,’ will be available for download for the games 'Rock Band 3' and 'Rock Band Blitz' on Sept. 25, the same day ¡Uno!' is released nationwide.
Some longtime fans of Green Day have criticized the band for straying away from their rebellious punk roots. Those who think Green Day have gone soft better take a look at the following video, as the trio expressed their displeasure for having their set cut short at this weekend's iHeartRadio Festival.
Green Day struck gold with ‘Oh, Love,’ the lead single off their ‘¡Uno!’ album, but how would they do with their follow-up? The band just let go of their song ‘Kill the DJ,’ which is a more upbeat track with a somewhat sinister feel.
"Oh Love" is the first single to be released off the upcoming Green Day release "Uno". Gone is the fast paced punkish sort of Green Day flavor you're accustomed to, replaced with a sort of 60's-ish trippy kind of poppy flavored anthem.
We knew that when Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong introducedGuns N’ Roses at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction last April, the crowd booed at the mention of Axl Rose. We didn’t know that Armstrong almost filled in for Rose during a retrofitted GNR set that night.
It doesn’t look like Guns N’ Roses fans will be getting the reunion they’ve been waiting for when the band is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next Saturday (April 14). But they can take some small consolation in the knowledge that one of the biggest bands of the last 20 years will be welcoming Guns into the Hall.
