A Grand Rapids man got to live his dream this past weekend when he was plucked from the crowd and invited to play on stage with The Killers in Detroit.

This week, our good friends in Wayland made an announcement on their Facebook page, that longtime drummer, Tyler, has stepped away from the band to focus on his personal life and family. Tyler also posted to his personal Facebook page.

This afternoon, Chachi from Pop Evil hosted a live video chat to announce his departure from the band. He's taking a new opportunity that will allow him to spend more time with family.

On Monday, Avenged Sevenfold announced that their new drummer would be named on Wednesday. They've been working with the new skinsman for over a year, since letting Arin Ilejay go. They held off announcing Arin's departure until July, but they've had Brooks Wackerman in the band well before that. Who's Brooks Wackerman, you ask?

Avenged Sevenfold have been working on a new album with an unnamed drummer for quite a long time now. After announcing the split with Arin Ilejay last July, it's come out that Arin has been gone, and the band has been working with their new guy for over a year! So much for all the drummers on Youtube who've been uploading their audition videos.

Godsmack and Breaking Benjamin hit the Kellogg Arena on September 24, which is next week! Have you purchased your tickets to the show yet? Godsmack released their first ever album in 1998, which was one of the first rock albums that I ever listened too! To promote the upcoming tour, Godsmack drummer Shannon Larkin called into WGRD.

Nothing More is a great band from San Antonio, TX, and they've been through here a few times over the last year or so, and they even played paintball with some GRD winners last summer! Today, they had to announce that Paul, the drummer, was leaving the band for personal reasons, and they are sad to see him go.

If you've been in a band, you've probably heard your drummer say some of these things.  It wouldn't even have to be in the studio, it could be in rehearsal, at a show, or just when they're hanging out screwing around on the kit. People in bands are funny.  The only thing I think he forgot for this was: "Hold on, let me just warm up real quick."
