Johnnie’s Throwback Thursday – Meeting the Scorpions
Even though I've never been a huge Scorpions fan, though I do enjoy their music, I've somehow seen them a bunch of times in concert, and managed to meet them a couple of times. Here's the first time I met them...sometime in the early 90's.  They always put of a great show, and sound fantastic, and they have always been really nice people to meet.

On Stage with The Black Keys
If you've never gotten the chance to get on a big stage in front of thousands of people, here's your chance ... sort of! Most people never get to see this kind of thing, so I thought it would be cool to take my camera up on stage to show you what it looks and sounds like!

Wayland Rocked Grand Rapids at Yankee Springs Golf Course on Saturday Night
Wayland came back home for a series of shows this past week, culminating in a fantastic charity event at Yankee Springs Golf Course, to raise money for the Wayland High School music program on Saturday night! Johnnie’s TBT – Meeting Metallica in 1997
Today is the anniversary of Metallica's black album release, so I figured I try this throwback Thursday thing for once. This doesn't go back to '92, but '97, when Metallica was touring for the Load album, before Reload came out.  I got the chance to hit a couple shows, as I was part of a station event where we gave away a trip to Phoenix for the Metallica show on January 5th, and then we raced bac

Jackyl Rocked!
Jackyl hit the Grand Rapids area Friday night for one of the first shows at Berlin Raceway in a long time, and they didn't disappoint any of the crowd! They hit the stage with "My Moonshine Kicks Your Cocaine's Ass", and blasted througha set that was almost fun-religious-revival-meets-rock-extravaganza amazing! Jesse James even plays around with his band towards the end, trying throw the
