Thanks to Black Sabbath, the city of Birmingham, England, can arguably be called the birthplace of heavy metal. Now, Black Sabbath’s first manager, Jim Simpson, is leading the charge to rename Birmingham Airport after the band’s iconic singer, Ozzy Osbourne.
After Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler penned an open letter to fans yesterday (May 19) in response to drummer Bill Ward‘s own letter a few days earlier, Ward responded to Butler’s letter earlier today (May 20). It’s the latest in the ongoing saga surrounding Ward’s departure from the legendary metal band.
The Download Festival keeps getting bigger. The U.K. rock weekend already nabbed Metallica, the newly reunited Black Sabbath and Prodigy to headline each night. It's now been confirmed that Soundgarden, Machine Head, Anthrax, Tenacious D and more will join the bill.
Ozzy hath called down the mighty thunder of Tommy Iommi and the other original members of Black Sabbath to create a new album. The whole project is supposed to be kind of a secret, but Ozzy Osbourne is not very good at keeping that secret.
Whenever Ozzy Osbourne does anything, it's big news. The guy may be one of the last remaining true icons and we're pretty sure he can't be killed. His latest project is a live tour documentary entitled 'God Bless Ozzy.'
