Avalanche Tour

The lineup for this year's Avalanche Tour has been revealed. Shinedown will headline the trek with Adelitas Way on board to support. New Medicine and Art of Dying will split opening duties on select dates, which luckily include a stop in Grand Rapids.

Stone Sour and Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor was gracious enough to sit down with me before Stone Sour's set at Wednesday night's Avalanche Tour at the DeltaPlex. We talked about the success of Stone Sour's latest album, Audio Secrecy, the future of Slipknot and who would win in a fight between Sharktopus and Piranhaconda.

The Avalanche Tour invaded Grand Rapids Wednesday night, where Stone Sour, Theory of a Deadman, Skillet, Halestorm and Art of Dying took over the DeltaPlex! Check out the photos after the jump.

Skillet have reached mainstream success with their 2009 album, Awake, but it definitely hasn't gone to lead singer John Cooper's head. With a soda in hand, Cooper sat down with me to talk about the evolution of Skillet, keeping old school fans happy, being a good parent and Four Square. The actual schoolyard game; not the stupid app that will get you killed one day by a crazy stalker.

Halestorm performed an acoustic version of "I Get Off" at their GRD Live Blitz before the Avalanche Tour at the DeltaPlex. It's just as aggressive as the studio version. Plugged or "unplugged", Halestorm know how to bring it. Watch the performance below...

Red Lion, PA rockers and GRD favorite Halestorm were in town Wednesday night at the DeltaPlex for the Avalanche Tour. The band was kind enough to chat with me about various topics, including karaoke, and played a couple of acoustic songs for our GRD Live Blitz.
