A few weeks ago we went through the 15 things that anyone who lives in Grand Rapids should do or try at least once. Obviously, we couldn't just stop at 15 considering there's so much to do in this awesome city!
So here are 15 MORE things all Grand Rapidians should do/try at least once...
ArtPrize today announced a brand new grant program for 2016. ArtPrize Featured Public Projects will grant $55,000 directly to artists, ranging from $10,000 to $15,000 per project.
The grants will be given to artists for entries at four ArtPrize venues: Vandenberg (Calder) Plaza, Ah-Nab-Awen Park, Grand River and Gillett Bridge.
The winners of ArtPrize Seven were announced tonight at The Grand Rapids Civic Theatre.
Two $200,000 Grand Prizes were awarded.
The Public Vote winner was Loveless PhotoFiber's "Northwood Awaking." The Jury Award winner is Kate Gilmore's "Higher Ground."
Pamela Alderman's "Hometown Hero" honors the memory of Army Spc. Eric T. Burri. Burri was 21 years old when he gave his life in 2005 while serving in Bagdad.
Visitors to the ArtPrize Seven entry are invited to interact by writing the name of their personal hero on the flag.
Julie Green's "The Last Supper" is at Kendall College of Art and Design/Fed Galleries @ KCAD for ArtPrize Seven.
The entry shows plates with paintings of death row inmates' last meal requests.
ArtPrize announced the Public Vote Finalists for ArtPrize Seven on Sunday afternoon at Rosa Parks Circle.

It takes thousands of volunteer hours to make ArtPrize a success. Some volunteers work directly for ArtPrize, some for venues, others assist artists.
Kate Gilmore's "Higher Ground" has a very unique volunteer opportunity.
Gilmore needs women to wear white dresses and swing for one-hour shifts.
The ArtPrize Seven Jurors' Shortlists were revealed on Monday. The five finalists for Outstanding Venue contained a few regulars. SiTE:LAB, UICA and Kendall College have all been finalists before.
The list also contained a couple of surprises with newcomers Processing Fiber at 250 Monroe and Spiral.

Summertime in Grand Rapids is cool on Thursdays with the food trucks that park in front of the GRAM downtown. Since that's right outside the studios, it's really fun to run down and grab some food from something different than the restaurants here. But Artprize Seven has really kicked that up a couple notches!
Welcome to the BOB parking lot, with something like TEN FOOD TRUCKS EVERY DAY!
Take a walk along the Grand River at Sixth Street Bridge Park during ArtPrize and one entry is sure to grab your eye, Copy Culture's "Minimalist Division".
"Minimalist Division" is a large mirrored cube which allows visitors to walk inside.
