The guys from Wayland stopped by the 97.9 WGRD studios to talk about their crazy tour life, some things we couldn't share on the air and get everyone pumped for their show at The Intersection on April 5 -- Saturday. A cool band stopped by the WGRD studios this week to say hi and play us a couple of their songs, totally stripped down and acoustic.  So stripped down, there wasn't even any furniture in the room! Seriously.  Because of the movie filming in the station, we had to sneak off into an abandoned room to hang out and jam! Check out this band, the Lovehammers, from Chicago.

This afternoon, the guys in Heaven's Basement stopped by the WGRD studios to have lunch and play some tunes for some winners and the staff.  They were supposed to be on tour with The Pretty Reckless, but Taylor got sick, so Heaven's Basement decided to just go on a drinking tour of radio stations and have some fun!

Recently, Shinedown posted to its Facebook page this video. It's an acoustic cover of Brent Smith singing Pearl Jam's "Black." As always Shinedown does amazing! (I have a mega-crush on Brent Smith ...)

A couple months ago at my last radio gig in El Paso, Texas, I got to hang out with the guys in P.O.D. and have some BBQ while they rocked some cool acoustic versions of some of their songs.   They were really cool dudes, and had fun playing their songs this way in front a few people at KLAQ 95.5 FM before they hit the stage in front of thousands of people to turn the volume way up!

Heaven's Basement is a great British rock band, and its song, "Fire Fire" is rockin' 'GRD right now.  Acoustic versions of songs are always cool to check out, and these are no different. There's a totally stripped down version, and another version with full drums, too.
