There are moments in life that leave you scratching your confused head until it bleeds. One of those moments for me was when I first heard about Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland's desire to record a Christmas album. It was like trying to understand the movie plot to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen or why the Detroit Lions continued to keep Matt Millen employed for as long as they did. Well, Weiland's holiday project, entitled The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, will hit stores on October 25. However, impatient fans can stream the whole album now.

Those expecting STP-style X-Mas tunes will be sorely disappointed. Weiland is in full Frank Sinatra/Michael Bublé mode backed by a big band orchestra. Classics include "The Christmas Song", "Silent Night" and "Winter Wonderland". It's shockingly classy and can be played in department stores and formal holiday work parties.

While most of us are still trying to figure out the most inappropriate costumes for Halloween, Scott Weiland wants to make sure we don't forget that Santa's fat ass is coming to town soon. Listen to The Most Wonderful Time of the Year in its entirety thanks to SPIN.

Does this get you in the Christmas spirit, or does it make you want to drink yourself to oblivion like Weiland himself when he's on tour with Stone Temple Pilots?
