Corey Taylor has been a busy boy these last years, fronting both Slipknot and Stone Sour; touring and recording with both bands, auditioning for Anthrax and being in movies!

With the new Slipknot album tearing through the world right now and massive tours behind it, Taylor still has found time to record a new Stone Sour album of covers!

The first cover we get to hear is one a lot of people may not know, but it's a great song! It's a cover of an old Metal Church song titled "The Dark," the title track of Metal Church's second album.

The original is such a cool freaking song, when I saw this news, I was apprehensive. I love Metal Church, and David Wayne and Mike Howe had such distinctive higher voices, I was concerned.

Stone Sour has done an amazing job of adjusting the song to fit Corey's voice. It's not like the original, but has some of that cool evil vibe, still. It's also part of the new movie that Corey has a part in, the Robert England horror film "Fear Clinic," and has a lot of footage from the movie in the video.

Enjoy Stone Sour's cover version of the song; and here's the Metal Church original.
