Stone Sour Cancel Tour After Drummer Suffers Minor Stroke
Stone Sour have ran into a setback as the band was forced to cancel the rest of their U.S. tour dates due to drummer Roy Mayorga (second from left) suffering a minor stroke. Fortunately, Mayorga is expected to make a full recovery soon.
Mayorga had the stroke after the band's Des Moines show last week. Stone Sour released the following statement:
“It is with regret that we have decided to cancel the remaining dates on our current headline tour. Our friend and drummer, Roy Mayorga suffered a minor stroke a couple of nights ago after our show in Des Moines. He’s doing great and is expected to make a 100% recovery. We apologize to all the fans and look forward to getting back out on the road with Roy in the coming months.”
Corey Taylor posted a thank you message to fans on his Twitter account.
"Thank you so much, everyone. I know Roy appreciates all your love and thoughts. I do as well. We will keep you all posted about everything."
Stone Sour's Shawn Economaki pulled out of the current tour last month due to undisclosed "personal issues", forcing the group to play with a replacement bassist.
