After months of speculation, it seems that Slipknot will continue on as a band after this summer. Lead singer Corey Taylor confirmed that the Iowa metal heads plan to tour in the U.S., which means that the band's live dates this summer at the Sonisphere Festival went well internally.

Taylor has been non-committal up until this point about a possible future for Slipknot without bassist Paul Gray, who passed away last year. However, the singer seemed to have changed his mind judging by the tweet below from his official Twitter account.

Seems to be a complete 180 degree viewpoint from earlier comments where Taylor said Slipknot could be done if the summer shows did not work out. I'm also excited that a new Stone Sour album is in the works sooner rather than later.

Slipknot are set to headline Rock in Rio IV, along with Metallica, on September 25 in Rio de Janeiro. Corey Taylor is currently promoting his book, Seven Deadly Sins.
