Ever since he was a kid, Corey Taylor has wanted to write a book.

The Slipknot and Stone Sour front man finally fulfilled his dream with the recently released hardcover Seven Deadly Sins: Settling the Argument Between Born Bad and Damaged Goods (Da Capo Press).

“There was a definite sense of catharsis after I was all done, man,” Taylor says about his anecdotal book addressing the so-called seven deadly sins. “You never realize how much you’re kind of carrying with you until you just kind of set the record straight.”

Taylor is on a book-signing tour that includes stops in Chicago on July 19 and West Hollywood, California, on July 20.

As for music projects, a Taylor solo album is “way on the back burner.” But fans can look forward to some Stone Sour activity, starting with a live DVD shot in Brighton, England, that he says might be coupled with a covers EP. More information on that is expected in the next few months, he says.

“I can tell you that we’re definitely starting to put some work into another Stone Sour album,” Taylor adds. “This one will be a little bit of everything. … It’s something that I’m really hoping we get to work on in the next six months.”
