Slayer is one of those bands that inspires ridiculous extreme loyalty in it's fans.  Slayer fans don't say, "Slayer".  They scream it!  They've always been one of my favorite bands to see live, and they just bring a simple performance experience to their fans.  It's just a brutal assault on you, without any frills or silliness.

Tom Araya has a really laid-back, happy demeanor when he's talking with the crowd, making sure everyone is having a good time, and helping each other out, so everyone can have a good time.  He really wants people to have a good time at the Slayer show.

Then he screams out things like, "Waaaaaaaarrrrr Ensemble", or "Dead Skin Mask", that are the only parts the old people can remember, and are afraid of.

I've seen Slayer a few times without Jeff Hanneman, and even though I love Gary Holt, it's just not quite the same.  Still great, though.  Enjoy these live songs from Rock on the Range, "World Painted Blood" and "War Ensemble"!  Or should I scream, "Waaaaaaaarrrrrr Ensemble!"
