Football season is here, and everyone is getting set for the end of the meaningless games, and the beginning of the real season.  Go Texans!  Sorry, I'm from Texas.

One off-season controversy that we heard a lot about this past year, is the movement to change the name of the Washington Redskins to something "less offensive to Native Americans".

First off, maybe we should make sure it's actually offensive to them.

According to this video, the logo for the team was created by Native Americans, and approved by Native American leaders.  The logo shows a strong warrior, and represents the strong, majestic warrior.

It's a unifying term.

Mark One Wolf, Chiricahua/Apache

What are the Native Americans more concerned with?

The same things we all are.  Healthcare, crime, alcohol, drugs, unemployment.

It's somebody else, who knows nothing about us, trying to speak for us.  It's kind of an insult.

Wade Colliflower, Chippewa Cree Tribe

How about we focus on those things, rather than a stupid team name?
