Rogers Plaza Being Sued for Discrimination
Rogers Plaza, the shopping center in Wyoming, is being sued by a family for discrimination.
The parents of a 2-year-old girl, who was born with a disability, claim the shopping center discriminated against the girl because of it. FOX 17 reports that the incident happened on December 13th when the girl was sitting on the floor in the mall, and the manager asked them to leave.
The family says they had been going to Rogers Plaza for months to practice walking and physical therapy for their 2-year-old daughter, and this was the first time they were asked to leave.
The lawsuit cites the mall as a place where people frequently go for therapeutic exercise, and says people waiting for the Secretary of State branch in the mall have sat on the floor.
The law firm representing Rogers Plaza told FOX 17 that sitting in the middle of the mall is a safety risk nor are they a place to do physical therapy.
