The GRD Rocktagon continues with Alter Bridge remaining as champions. The "Addicted to Pain" hitmakers are gunning for their 16th consecutive win against the latest single from Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington, entitled "Black Heart."

This week is huge for Alter Bridge as they release their fourth studio album, Fortress, tomorrow (October 8). Bassist Brian Marshall has stated that the record came about naturally.

"I think it's definitely a little bit more cerebral," Marshall told Kill Your Stereo (via BLABBERMOUTH). "I think every record we try to kind of better ourselves, and I think this record definitely shows that we've progressed, and the arrangements of the songs, we didn't think about too much, rather just letting them evolve."

Stone Temple Pilots are ready to drop their High Rise EP with Bennington on October 8 as well, their first with the Linkin Park singer since firing original vocalist Scott Weiland back in February. LP fans won't have to worry about Bennington's extracurricular activities from impacting his main band.

"We've treated this much like if you're doing business with somebody and want to go off and do business with somebody else," Bennington told Billboard, stating that STP "needed to understand my priority will always be Linkin Park. In no way, shape or form do I want anything I do with Stone Temple Pilots to interfere with what we have to do as a band."
