Restaurant Week Grand Rapids is on! There's over 60 restaurants taking part this year-- that means it can be tough deciding where to go! There are so many great places with awesome sounding menus.

I decided to pick somewhere I'd never been and that had a really tasty sounding menu: Aryana Restaurant and Bar inside the Crowne Plaza on 28th Street.

Aryana proudly serves Michigan beers, including Founders, New Holland, and Dark Horse. My boyfriend chose Dark Horse Crooked Tree IPA and I went with a Michigan wine, the Chateau Grand Traverse Riesling.

Turns out,  Aryana uses Michigan beers in the food too!

We ordered up our appetizers: Smokey Cheddar and Founder's Pale Ale Fondue and Smokey Chicken Rangoon, with chicken marinated in Founder's Pale Ale. The fondue was served with crostini and green apple wedges. At first I thought apples and cheesey dip would be a weird combination, but it was totally delicious!

Then it was time for the main course, Jalepeno Bacon Wrapped BBQ Shrimp and Black and Blue Beef. The beef was very tender and came with a tasty port demi and bacon marmalade-- which is basically like bacon candy, yum.

For dessert we shared Richer Than a Mayan King, a frozen cappuccino, and a Touch of Heaven, a pan fried angel food cake. The latter reminded me of strawberry shortcake with it's berry compote and Hudsonville Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.
