26 years ago today, the music world lost one of, if not the greatest metal bassist of all time, Cliff Burton.  On September 27th, 1986, Burton lost his life when Metallica's tour bus over-turned in Sweden.  He was 24 years old.

Burton played on the Metallica albums Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets, which was recently voted the greatest heavy metal album of all time by readers of Rolling Stone.  To see their list of the greatest heavy metal albums ever, CLICK HERE.
