Sunday was a busy day for the Detroit Red Wings as they signed some free agents.

Mikael Samuelsson - The 35 year old right winger signed a 2 year deal worth 6 million dollars. Samuelsson returns to Detroit after spending the majority of the last three season with the Vancouver Canucks. He played 48 games for the Florida Panthers last season. Samuelsson was a Red Wing from 2005 to 2009. He tallied 14 goals and 17 assists in 54 games last season with Vancouver and Florida.

Jonas Gustavsson - The Wings signed this former Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender to a 2 year deal worth 3 million dollars. Gustavsson is 27 years old and had a goals against average of 2.92 in 42 games last season with Toronto.

Jordin Tootoo - The Wings signed the 29 year old Tootoo to a 3 year deal worth 5.7 million dollars. This right winger comes to Detroit after parts of 8 seasons with the Nashville Predators. Tootoo doesn't score much, but will add some much needed grit up front.

The Red Wings also signed Swiss forward Damien Brunner. Brunner scored 60 points in 45 games last season in the Swiss-A league.
