Before hitting The Intersection Tuesday night with All That Remains and We Came As Romans, Mike and Ricky from Red Sun Rising stopped by GRD.

The guys talked with Janna about touring, what it's like to be be back in Grand Rapids, their latest single The Otherside, and even put on their best "radio DJ" voices to introduce it!

It was great to have Mike and Ricky back in studio! The guys were here at the end of August to rock the Intersection with Pop Evil and Aranda.

They shared their thoughts on being back in GR:

It's awesome to be back soon because the fans we did make, especially online have been very responsive. We feel welcome to be back here so quickly... It's cool to come back to a repeat market where we're starting to build some traction and getting to know some people."

The Tuesday Oct. 16 show at The Intersection was the first stop on the Hard Drive Live Fallout Tour with All That Remains:

This night will be interesting because this is the first like, heavy-music stylistically bill that we've been added to and we're obviously a little more alternative/ grunge, so we'll see how that goes over with this."

About their song The Otherside:

That was one of the songs we actually wrote out in Los Angeles. We took a handful of songs to the studio, but that was one that just kinda came out of nowhere, which some of the best songs do that, because it's natural. Lyrically, when Ryan and I were writing it, we wanted to make 'the otherside' one word because we wanted it to represent an actual place, kind of a place of refuge, that once you break through whatever is hindering your life, whether it's addiction, a bad relationship, a death, or whatever that is, that's when you find 'the otherside', just kind of your place of refuge, so that's kind of the inspiration behind the song."

Here's Red Sun Rising rocking an acoustic version of the song for GRD listeners the last time they were in Grand Rapids:
