This year’s Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos has officially been named the most-watched television broadcast in history. The Halftime Show starring Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers also set a record for being the most-watched Halftime Show ever, and if you want to own a piece of the historic event, look no further than Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.

According to the Associated Press, the Halftime Show drew a massive 115.3 million viewers. If you were one of those viewers, it’s likely that you took notice Chad Smith’s drum kit, which sported the logos of all 32 NFL teams. To help raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the NFL is auctioning off the drum kit and various pairs of sticks used by Smith for the performance.

The drum kit itself has been split up into two items. One half of the kit brandishes the logo of every NFC team, while the other half is embossed with every AFC team logo. Funnily enough, as of this posting, the highest bid is for the AFC kit even thought the NFC Seattle Seahawks emerged victorious at the Super Bowl. Two Chad Smith “rehearsal pair” of drumsticks are available for bidding, as is the actual “performance pair” used live on television.

This auction follows what some would call a controversial performance, as Red Hot Chili Peppers played to a pre-recorded instrumental track while singer Anthony Kiedis was the only member to actually perform live. Bassist Flea offered a lengthy explanation regarding the gig, sharing the strict NFL rules regarding sound at the Halftime Show and the band being open about the partially pre-recorded performance while grasping the opportunity for exposure in front of a record-setting audience.
