Readers Poll Results: Megadeth + Gojira Should Win Grammy Awards

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards will take place tonight (Feb. 12) in Los Angeles, and while you don't have a vote in the process, we still wanted to see who you think should walk away with the golden gramophone in two of the categories that should be of interest to Loudwire's readers.

The first category is Best Metal Performance, where the nominees include Baroness' "Shock Me," Gojira's "Silvera," Korn's "Rotting in Vain," Megadeth's "Dystopia" and Periphery's "The Price Is Wrong." Surprisingly, this is Megadeth's twelfth Grammy nomination, but the band has not won yet. Could this be the year? The only Grammy winner in the group are Korn, who have two previous wins.

Shortly after the nominees were revealed, we asked for your input on who you thought should win the category, and as you can see in the poll below, the readers are behind Dave Mustaine and Megadeth finally taking home their first Grammy. With over 38 percent of the vote, the band emerged the victor, at least in the eyes of Loudwire's readers, while there was also a lot of support for Gojira and Korn.

The other major category of interest is Best Rock Album, which includes Blink-182's California, Cage the Elephant's Tell Me I'm Pretty, Gojira's Magma, Panic at the Disco's Death of a Bachelor and Weezer's self-titled album. In this category, Weezer are the only past Grammy winners, taking home a Best Music Video Grammy for "Pork and Beans." So the winner in this category will be a first-timer for Best Rock Album.

We asked who you think should win, with an overwhelming amount of support coming in for Gojira's Magma album. Blink-182's California put up the biggest fight, but finished a distant second in voting by Loudwire's readers. See the final tally below.
