Popular downtown Grand Rapids eatery XO Asian Cuisine was closed down Thursday after the Kent County Health Department says they found thirty health code violations.

The restaurant won't be allowed to reopen its doors to customers until it fixes all of the violations and passes an inspection. In addition to fixing the issues, the owners will also have to pay $6,000 in fines.

WOOD-TV8 reports that XO has had "chronic issues of noncompliance" with the health code.

The popular Asian cuisine restaurant located at 58 Monroe Center St NW has become a staple for those that live and work in and around downtown Grand Rapids. They offer a variety of Asian foods, including sushi which they offer for half-off on Tuesdays. They also deliver.
