GRD faves Pop Evil have been hard at work promoting their upcoming album Onyx, due out next Tuesday (May 14). The band just premiered the brand new video for the first single "Trenches," and it's as intense as you'd expect from PE.

The clip starts off with the band walking up to a gorgeous mansion in Sweden. Pop Evil start performing inside a room of the house looking pretty dapper. "Trenches" alternates shots between the group and a young woman who looks to be training for a fight. As the story progresses, viewers are shown what appears to be flashbacks of the girl's abusive relationship with a boyfriend. There is some pretty heavy stuff here including examples of drug addiction and sexual assault.

"We wanted to portray a realistic view on the issues of addiction and abuse," Pop Evil said in a statement. "We hope it makes the viewer take a positive approach on looking at themselves for strength and hope that tomorrow is another day closer to absolution."

"Trenches" is the last video in a three-part series but was released first. The other two clips are expected to be released at a later date. All were shot in Sweden with veteran film director Johan Carlén Mask. Watch the video in its entirety below and tell us what you think.
