Earlier this month, Pearl Jam began teasing a concert film called Let's Play Two. Serving up a trailer, it was evident that the concert footage came from the performances at Chicago's Wrigley Field, with the title not only serving as a play on words for a well-known baseball phrase but also literally referring to the fact that the group played two August 2016 shows at the legendary baseball park.

Now comes word that the film will receive a number of special screenings followed by the eventual retail release of the concert film and movie soundtrack. The film was directed by acclaimed photographer Danny Clinch and not only is a concert film, but it also showcases the special relationship forged between the band, frontman Eddie Vedder and the Chicago Cubs family.

"In my films and photographs, I love to explore the relationship between a band, their fans and the location," Clinch explains. "When it happens that the main characters of your film are Pearl Jam, the Chicago Cubs, their fans, and Wrigley Field during a historic moment, you know it’s going to be epic. Our instincts were correct to follow the story and it took us to a historic Game 7 of the World Series ending a 108-year drought for the Cubs. I have learned to welcome the unexpected and it always pays off if you’re ready for it."

Pearl Jam's Ten Club will host a special members-only screening of Let's Play Two at Chicago's Metro on Wednesday, Sept. 27 and Thursday, Sept. 28. Then, in partnership with Abramorama, Let's Play Two will enjoy a week-long theatrical engagement in select markets running from Sept. 29 through Oct. 3. The film's soundtrack will be released on Sept. 29 in coordination with the screenings through Republic Records. Look for the soundtrack available in vinyl LP and CD formats.

On Oct. 13, immediately following Game 1 of the American League Championship Series, there will also be a U.S. television premiere taking place on FS1. After all the screenings have taken place, the Let's Play Two film will be offered in a wider scale for retail release on Nov. 17.

The soundtrack is currently available to pre-order now at Pearl Jam's website, with digital retailers also offering a pre-order as of Aug. 25. The home video will be available for pre-order on Sept. 29.  See full details on the soundtrack track listing below and for more details on the film's screenings, visit the Let's Play Two website.
