Michigan State University could be looking for a new defensive coordinator for the first time under head football coach Mark Dantonio.

Pat Narduzzi has interviewed with the University of Pittsburgh for its head coaching vacancy, according to multiple media reports. He has been MSU's top defensive assistant since Dantonio took over in East Lansing in 2007.

Narduzzi, 48, has been highly sought in the college coaching world the past few seasons. In recent years, he has turned down other head coaching opportunities as well as a chance to become Texas A&M's defensive coordinator.

The Pittsburgh job was reported to be between Narduzzi and Marshall Coach Doc Holliday, but Holliday reportedly signed an extension with the Thundering Herd on Tuesday.
