Police in East Grand Rapids are warning parents and residents to be on the lookout for a suspicious man who's been seen in the area.

FOX 17 says a man, who's been driving a red van, has been trying to lure children. A report came in on Wednesday afternoon, that two children were approached by a man who tried to convince them to get into his car. The incident occurred at Woodcliff Drive and Maplewood.

The two kids used their better judgement and ran away. Neither were hurt.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 40's, with a grey beard and glasses. He is driving a red van with a white stripe on it.

Schools in the neighborhood have also been warned. Parents are encouraged to talk to their kids about "stranger danger."
