Papa Roach's touring is on hold for the time being, as frontman Jacoby Shaddix has undergone vocal cord surgery and will need rest before he's able to resume touring.

In a new posting from the band, it's revealed that Shaddix was advised by his doctors and vocal specialists to have the surgery on his vocal cord and that he give his vocal muscles enough time to heal before the band resumes their touring in September.

Luckily, Papa Roach only had a handful of dates schedule for August, but one of them was a headlining spot at the Moonstock Festival in Carterville, Ill. on Aug. 19. The other dates affected are an Aug. 11 performance at the Douglas County Fair in Roseburg, Ore., and an Aug. 25 date at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer, Alaska.

In their posting, the band states, "Jacoby had a similar surgery about five years ago. Fortunately, the diagnosis was made early and full recovery should be soon. The vocal cords are a muscle and like any athlete, muscles can get injured in the course of their profession and we appreciate your understanding this diagnosis."

They conclude, "We wish to thank all of our fans in advance for your prayers and good wishes. We know some of you had travel plans and we will return next year to perform for you. Please contact your local ticketing company for more information on the following shows."

Meanwhile, Shaddix posted a photo of himself resting comfortably in a hospital bed. In his social media post, he added, "Just want to say thanks for all the kind words and well wishes from all my friends, family and fans. It means a lot. I will recover. I will sing again. Until then I just want to send my love and gratitude to you all." See the post below.

We send our best wishes to Jacoby Shaddix for a speedy recovery and a healthy return to touring next month.
