GoFundMe has announced that more than $341,000 has been raised from 8,238 donors to help provide clean drinking water for the people of Flint through the crowdfunding website.

GoFundMe has also issued a challenge, which will give $10,000 to the campaign that raises the most funds between January 22 and January 29. That challenge has brought in donations of $165,000 so far.

"We are thrilled with the outpouring of support from the GoFundMe community," said Rob Solomon, GoFundMe CEO. "Our goal is to raise as much money as possible for the people of Flint, and $165,000 additional funds in only five days is incredible. This money will have a real impact on the lives of Flint's residents, helping to bring much needed clean water."
