Epic summer movies are one of our favorite parts of summertime: lots of action, explosions, sci-fi, and of course: epic trailers with epic soundtracks. That's why we are stoked that 'Oblivion' comes out today.

Typical movie music involves intense string sections, and soprano choruses. 'Oblivion' takes it one step further, with a score created by the band M83, known for their "hauntingly futuristic sound." M83 was the perfect choice, considering the band was named after Messier 83, the spiral galaxy. Composers Anthony Gonzalez and Joseph Trapanese are also responsible for the ‘TRON: Uprising’ score.

Based on the graphic novel by Joseph Kosinski and Arvid Nelson and equal parts action and sci-fi, 'Oblivion' stars Tom Cruise as post-apocalyptic explorer Jack Harper. Set in the year 2077, Jack plays one of the last drone repairman stationed on earth, in the wake of an alien attack that destroyed it. His mission is nearly complete when all hell breaks loose, and suddenly he finds himself tasked with saving humanity.

Shot in digital 4K resolution all over the United States and Iceland, the breathtaking shots and epic music in the trailer alone have us on the edge of our seats. We're going to see it in IMAX, and we recommend you do the same.

If you don't have your tickets already, visit the official site and enter your zipcode and purchase them now, or you'll be the only one not watching it tonight.

The entire 'Oblivion' soundtrack is available for streaming right here, if you can't wait to hear it. In the meantime though, here are 10 movie trailers as epic as the 'Oblivion' trailer, and our favorite epic quotes from them:
