Several news outlets are reporting that a female nurse was stabbed in the shoulder in a parking ramp Wednesday morning while leaving work at Spectrum Health. 

Grand Rapids Police say the incident happened just before 8:00am in Ramp 7 at the corner of Lafayette and Michigan.

Spectrum Health security guards are reviewing security footage to try to determine the identity of the suspect according to police.

The nurse suffered non-life threatening injuries and is being treated at the hospital for stab wounds.

The person who stabbed her is still on the loose and police have no suspects that we are aware of at this time.

Spectrum Health released a statement on their Facebook page regarding the incident:

Spectrum Health is working with the Grand Rapids Police Department after an employee was assaulted in Parking Ramp 7 on the Medical Center campus this morning. Additional security monitoring of the ramp and surrounding areas is in place. The safety of our patients, visitors and employees is very important. This incident reminds all of us to use extra caution.
