Nirvana’s iconic Nevermind album has hit a landmark achievement on Billboard. As of this posting, Nevermind has reached its 350th week on the Billboard Top 200 chart. That almost seven years!

Seen as one of rock’s rare perfect albums, Nevermind single-handedly shifted the musical landscape in the early ‘90s. Tracks like “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “Come as You Are” and “In Bloom” opened the door for grunge and blew up the popularity of the alternative rock scene.

Nevermind landed at No. 134 on the Billboard 200 chart this week, selling 5,000 units and collecting its 350th nonconsecutive week on the chart. The album has the eighth-most total weeks on the Billboard 200. The longest run still belongs to Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon with 927 weeks.

During Nevermind’s first-ever week on the Billboard 200, it made a modest impact, debuting at No. 144 with just 6,000 copies sold. Once Nevermind entered the Billboard 200 in 1991, it remained there for nearly two years, finally falling off the chart in July 1993, only to return three weeks later. Funnily enough, “Smells Like Teen Spirit” remains the sole Nirvana cut to enter the Dance Club Songs chart, peaking at No. 14 in early 1992.

Nirvana’s Nevermind has been certified diamond (10 million sales) in the U.S. and has sold over 30 million copies worldwide.
