Well, it took a really long time, but a new Star Fox game is finally on the horizon!

Officially announced today during Nintendo's Digital Event, Shigeru Miyamoto showed game play, video, cut scenes, and clarified where the game sits in the Star Fox storyline.

That's where the hint of disappointment comes in.

First off, let me say that the game looks great, and I am looking forward to playing it!

However, during their Nintendo Tree House portion they began to play the game and clarified that the game is a re-imagining of Star Fox 64.

Ok seriously, do we need another re-imagining of the game? We already have one named Star Fox 64 3D! A fully rebooted and polished version of the game!

Keep in mind though, it's not a DIRECT port of the game. They have added new voice overs, graphics, enemies, etc, but the core game is still the CORE game. Why didn't they take the usual formula and make like a Star Fox 64 2 or something?

Regardless, the game looks great and I will be purchasing it. I was just hoping for a new adventure.
