Since July 4, 2016, many locations across Michigan are required to display a sign which warns people about the signs of human trafficking and offers help to victims.

The Human Trafficking Notification Act requires the text above to be posted at locations including:

  • Adult entertainment establishments
  • Rest stops and welcome facilities
  • Bus and rail stations
  • Public airports
  • Any entity that owns property that has been found by a court to constitute a public nuisance due to acts of prostitution or human trafficking being conducted on the property

The sign must be posted "in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public" and "in the English and Spanish languages and in any other language determined appropriate."
