Is the Breton Village Mall still called the Breton Village Mall? Hmm... Well, anyway, the shopping center at the intersection of Breton Road SE and Burton Street SE is getting a new produce market.

Fox 17 reports Fresh Thyme Farmers Market opens Wednesday, Feb. 24. at 7a.m.

According to the store's website, their main focus is fresh fruits and vegetables:

At the core of our offerings is an abundant produce department, overflowing with fruits and vegetables, fresh from the farm, often locally grown and much of it organic."

Fresh Thyme will also offer hormone-free meat, fresh seafood, organic bulk foods, baked goods from local bakeries, plus gluten-free and dairy free options.

The company says they aim to "combine the spirit of a weekend farmers market, and the convenience of a neighborhood store, with the nutritious offerings of a natural food marketplace."

According to Fresh Thyme's facebook page, the company was founded in September 2012, with "60+ stores opening throughout the Midwest". Fresh Thyme currently has four other stores in Michigan: East Lansing, Northville, Rochester Hills, and Troy.

The first 250 shoppers at the grand opening of the Grand Rapids store will get a Fresh Thyme reusable bag filled with groceries.
