Mumford and Sons Announce North American Tour Dates

Mumford and Sons may be known for singing "I will wait / I will wait for you" in their ubiquitous smash 'I Will Wait,' but the good news for North American fans of the English neo-folkers is that they won't have to wait to see the band perform live.

The Mumfords have just announced the details of a North American tour that begins on May 21 in Alberta, Canada, and runs along a chunk of West Coast and Southwest through June. Supporting the band on its non-festival dates will be Michael Kiwanuka and Mystery Jets.

Tickets are available now as part of an Invitation Onsale. What's that, you ask? Well, it's actually a brilliantly designed and wonderfully executed way for the band to make sure its fans are afforded the chance to nab tickets.

Fans can register for an invite to purchase early tickets for up to five shows, excluding the Gentlemen of the Road stopover festival dates, which are booked for later in the summer. The point of this Invitation Onsale exercise is to give all Mumford fans an equal opportunity to purchase tickets, and to ensure that tickets don't end up in the hands of scalpers and resellers! Perish the thought. The regular onsale is slated for Friday, April 5.

This late spring tour precedes the band's Gentlemen of the Road Stopover dates, which take place in August and September. Given the success of last year's events, the band expanded the Stopovers and made them two-day affairs, since you can never have enough Mumford and Sons, and their culture, in your life.
