If tricking your kids with the creepy and weird Elf on the Shelf (Sorry, not a parent, don't get it) doesn't get your kids to straighten up, maybe you should take a page a out of this woman's book and forge a threatening note from Santa.

A mother sent a letter to her daughter, Lydia, from Santa, telling her she better shape up to  get off the "naughty list". The letter made its way all the way from the North Pole and somehow ended up on Reddit. (The woman's brother posted it with the note, “My sister just dropped a nuke in the war to get her kid to behave.”)

Santa demands the girl stop hitting her sister, quit talking back to her parents and start cleaning her room.

Not only will Lydia's parents be in contact with Santa, he will be watching via the cameras in their house...

Yikes.

Santa is not messing around here. In fact, it's kind of terrifying:

But really, is it any worse than telling your kids a secret spy elf has infiltrated their home and is watching their every move and reporting back to Santa?

Oh I've seen your Facebook posts, parents. I know all about your elaborate "Elf on the Shelf" shenanigans, getting your kids to believe the elf "came to life" and got in a marshmallow fight or toilet-papered the Christmas tree or whatever. Not that I think lying to kids is wrong. No I think that's just fine. That damn elf though, it's just creepy.
