Detroit Tigers
slugger Miguel Cabrera sat at 399 career home runs for less than 24 hours, as he belted his 400th Saturday afternoon off of St. Louis Cardinals starter Tyler Lyons.

Cabrera took a 3-2 offering from Lyons over the centerfield wall to give the Tigers an early 1-0 lead.

With this milestone home run, Cabrera became the all-time home run leader among Venezuelan-born players, passing Andres 'Big Cat' Galarraga, whom he tied with his 399th home run the night before.

Cabrera is the second player in as many days to join the 400 home run club, after Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre hit his 400th Friday night.

At the time of this blog, the Tigers led the Cardinals 3-2 in the top of the third inning.
