The craziest presidential election is only three weeks away and the Michigan Secretary of State says there are currently 7.5 million people who are registered. This is the highest number of registered voters, ever, in the state, for a presidential election.

According to a 2015 Census data, there are about 7.7 million residents, ages 18 and older, in Michigan.

The last record held in Michigan was during the 2008 presidential election, when President Obama was running. There were also around 7.5 million registered voters but 10,500 less than this year.

Counties with colleges saw the biggest rise in the number of residents who registered to vote such as Ingham and Kalamazoo counties.
