South By Southwest (SXSW) is a huge arts, music and cultural festival in Austin, TX. And Michigan is represented at the event by the Grand Rapids based Michigan House.

At their house warming send off party Wednesday, they announced their lineup of speakers and performers, one of which will be Grand Rapids Mayor Rosalynn Bliss, who will speak of Michigan's successes.

Michigan House is a pop up space at the Festival that furthers the Michigan brand by featuring music, songs, products, brands and art that is all uniquely ours.

Bliss will appear on a panel Saturday March 11 entitled 'Making A Place For Equity'.

"The City of Grand Rapids has enjoyed an unprecedented period of growth and prosperity, yet many of our citizens struggle to find a seat at the table," Bliss said in a statement to MLive.com. "To reverse that trend, we must look beyond diversity and inclusion efforts to bring true equality to every member of this community."

FYI -- Michigan House is looking for local bands to join them in Austin. More information is available on their Facebook page.
