The #MeToo movement has taken center stage this past year and Tarana Burke, the founder, will take the stage in Grand Rapids.

Burke was announced as this year's keynote speaker for Inforum Michigan's annual Capstone Event. Inforum is a professional non-profit organization focused on women's leadership. The Capstone dinner is a celebration for the end of the year and according to their event page,

Tarana’s keynote will be the culmination of a year of programming that has inspired, educated, and encouraged women to support one another.

The event will be held on Thursday, November 29th at the J.W. Marriott in Downtown Grand Rapids. Tickets will be available for the public to purchase on July 2nd.

Despite it gaining most of its attention in 2017, Burke, a social activist, began Me Too in 2006. A few months ago, she was named one of the '100 Most Influential People' by TIME Magazine.

Inforum consists of wide range of professional women in different careers and walks of life. Groups and events are held throughout SE and West Michigan. You can get more information about the organization and becoming a member here.
