It's not throwback Thursday yet, but Metallica are digging into the vault to release a vintage concert and some video from the 'Death Magnetic'/'Beyond Magnetic' sessions.

Metallica's Sept. 21, 1986 concert at London's Hammersmith Odeon is available as a free MP3 download via LiveMetallica.com. It was one of the shows where John Marshall (Kirk Hammett's guitar tech who would later join Metal Church) played rhythm guitar after James Hetfield broke his arm in a skateboarding accident. Less than a week after this show, bassist Cliff Burton was killed.

The concert in support of 'Master of Puppets' includes the big hits from that album such as the title track and 'Welcome Home (Sanitarium)' along with classic songs like 'Whiplash,' 'Seek & Destroy' and 'Creeping Death.'

The band has also posted several 'fly on the wall' video clips circa 2008 (watch above and below). They originally appeared on MissionMetallica.com in the run-up to the release of 'Death Magnetic.'

Metallica are one of the artists appearing on the upcoming Ronnie James Dio tribute album 'Ronnie James Dio: This Is Your Life.' Their contribution is a medley including 'A Light In The Black,' 'Tarot Woman,' 'Stargazer' and 'Kill The King.' The album will be released April 1.
