McFadden's, the second oldest bar on Ionia Street in downtown Grand Rapids, is closing.

After 10 years, the nightclub and Irish Pub with shut its doors January 30th to make way for a new restaurant from owners BarFly Ventures LLC, MLive/ The Grand Rapids reports.

The new restaurant, pub, and nightclub, The Waldron Public House, will open in February of 2016.

BarFly Ventures owner Mark Sellers told MLive, "McFadden's had a great run but is getting a little long in the tooth...instead of just refreshing its look, we decided on a whole new concept."

BarFly Ventures also owns GR's HopCat, Stella's Lounge and Grand Rapids Brewing Co.

"Half our sales are food at those other properties. That's the sweet spot for BarFly. We'd like to get there with this new concept," Sellers explains.

The menu for the The Waldron Public House will feature homemade cuisine inspired by the cultures of the British Commonwealth,  including South Africa, Egypt, India, Australia, Barbados, and more, including the United States.

The new restaurant will also have European and American craft beers, a cocktail menu, a late-night dance floor, and private event spaces.
