Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron had been working on a solo disc at the time that his bandmate Chris Cornell passed away earlier this year, and though he debated on whether or not to proceed, he ultimately forged ahead and has found the decision to release Cavedweller therapeutic. Cameron just added to the output from the album unleashing a new lyric video for "Time Can't Wait," which can be seen above.

Speaking about the decision, he opened up to Billboard, who premiered the lyric video, stating, "I was certainly on the fence when I came home from the Soundgarden tour, but it feels good to take one step forward here. This has been a positive step for me for sure."

He continued, "For me, it's just the basic joy of songwriting and my whole mission draws out of that .... One of the millions of takeaways from being in those bands [Soundgarden and Pearl Jam] is just full creativity, 100 percent of the time. So that was one of the goals for me even wanting to do a record was to make sure that I was going to release a full musical statement like this. It was going to be 100 percent me."

As for the song, it's a driving rocker that's meant to appreciate the love that's there while time passes on. Take a listen in the video at the top of this post.

Meanwhile, Cameron also addressed the death of Cornell as members of the band have for the most part remained out of the public eye since the singer's suicide. "I don't think we're ready to say anything other than ... Kim and Ben and I are certainly aware of how much our fans are hurting and we're certainly hurting right there along with them. But we're extremely private people, and we're all still processing our grief in our own way and on our own time. But we definitely are thinking of our fans and love them very much."
