On of weekend of concert insanity, tons of concertgoers were either at the Avalanche Tour at the Orbit Room, or the massive metal show of Mastodon and Opeth at the Intersection. I, Ned The Metal Head, seized the opportunity to snag an interview with Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor. Am I wearing a mask? Well yea...if Mastodon wants you to wear a mask...you better damn well wear a mask.

You may or may not know, but Mastodon recorded a really quick song that was the opening song to the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters. It was one of the craziest songs I had ever heard. So I wondered if that would be a song I would ever hear live.

"No. Well we were approached by the guys who create Aqua Teen Hunger Force and they asked us on a Friday if we could record a song for the film, and they needed it by Monday! We kinda winged it when we got into the studio and never really gave it much thought after that."

Recently pictures started to arise on the net, and due to the amazing world of the internet, rumors start to fly. New album in the works?

"Nope...we were just in the studio recording a couple cover songs for Record Store day in April. Gotta support the local record shops man."
