Mastodon's latest album ‘Once More ‘Round the Sun’ was released last month, and the band has just announced a fall North American tour to support it. Just like their recent spring tour, the opening bands will be Gojira and Kvelertak.

The trek launches Oct. 15 in Boise, Idaho, and wraps up in Mastodon's hometown of Atlanta on Nov. 7. There is an Oct. 24 date in Detroit.

Pre-sales for the tour will be available beginning Wednesday at 10 a.m. local venue time at this location. The public sale date is Friday.

The band has also announced an Aug. 5 reissue of their 2002 debut album 'Remission.' The set has been remixed and remastered, and the CD includes more than 24 pages of previously unreleased artwork from artist Paul Romano that was originally created for the album.

A 2xLP box set (limited to 2000 copies worldwide) will also be available with a book featuring the new artwork from Romano along with an exclusive etching of the ‘Remission’ horse. A special black/gold vinyl box set edition is also available and comes with a special, full color 'Remission' turntable slipmat. For pre-orders, go here.

In other Mastodon news, their new album 'Once More 'Round the Sun' just debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. The disc was also the No. 1 rock album in the U.S. as well as the U.K. during its debut week. This marks their highest chart debut in their history. Mastodon will continue to promote the album, making a late night TV appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' Sept. 15.

Mastodon have a couple festivals in Norway lined up on July 18 and 19, then their concert calendar is empty until the Sept. 6 Hopscotch Festival in Raleigh, N.C. After their North American tour wraps up, they have a U.K. run beginning Nov. 22.
