Man Wearing Cookie Monster Pajamas Arrested After Waving a Gun on 28th Street

On Wednesday, police were called to 28th Street and Hotel Ave. in Cascade Township after getting reports of a man brandishing a firearm outside of a business.

Witnesses said the man had walked out of Tropical Smoothie, wearing cookie monster pajamas and a golf glove, MLive reports. 

The man fled the scene and tossed the weapon out the window, which was later determined to be a BB gun. Police gave chase until the suspect ran a red light at the East Beltline and 28th Street.

Police have since caught up with the man, whose name has not been released.

According to MLive, the suspect is expected to be arraigned today and faces charges of fleeing and eluding a police officer and retail fraud.
