Back in March, 78-year-old John McGraw punched protester Rakeem Jones at a Donald Trump rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The hook was caught on video and it only took a few hours for the internet to identify both the victim and the assailant. Fast forward to this week and that McGraw was in court to be fined for his actions.

Fortunately, we got to see a rather happy ending, as McGraw and Jones met with a tearful and forgiving embrace. McGraw apologized and told Jones that he regretted his actions and that they needed to work together to make the country a better place. With an ending like this, maybe 2016 wasn't such a bad year after all...actually, no.  It was still pretty awful.
