Just when you think the bad guy is under control, he run's off barefoot in handcuffs.

According to WOOD TV, police in Shelby, Mich. are on the hunt for a handcuffed man who was apprehended at a local hospital but escaped police custody.

Police are looking for the 30 year old suspect, Shayne Chris Smith of Hesperia, who eluded police from Shelby Lakeshore Hospital around 8:30 p.m..

According to the Oceana County Sheriff's Office, the suspect was being taken to a police cruiser then took off on the run.

Smith is a white male, with long hair and a beard, who is 5 foot 6 inches tall, and weighing around one hundred and seventy pounds. He was wearing a black t-shirt and jogging shorts. He ran off with his hands cuffed on the front side and barefoot.

Police warn that if you see the man, do not approach him but do call 911.

Police are also advising the community to keep all doors, windows and vehicles locked until the suspect is apprehended.
